Academic Part-time Position

Conestoga is a leader in polytechnic education, and fosters career-focused education, training, and applied research programs to prepare students for success, support industry and workforce needs, and promote economic prosperity throughout our region and across Ontario.

The School of Health & Life Sciences is seeking Part-time Curriculum Developers to develop the following programs:

• Public Health Nursing Graduate Certificate
• Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Management Graduate Certificate

Part-time Curriculum Developers work in collaboration with the Curriculum Development team to create, review, and revise course content. Courses are developed for a 15-week delivery.

The primary tasks for course module creation are researching, writing, creating, and curating content to be taught each week via lectures and activities. Assessments will also need to be created based on module content. The Part-time Curriculum Developers will follow the guidelines and processes of Conestoga’s School of Health & Life Sciences and receive course development and technical support throughout their work.

Successful candidates will conduct work remotely within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Promotion or Public Health is required; a master’s degree is considered an asset
• Relevant designation, certification, or current registration in good standing, if applicable
• Minimum two years of relevant experience working in health promotion or public health is required
• Adult or post-secondary level teaching experience is considered an asset
• Experience teaching and with curriculum development in adult education and post-secondary contexts is considered an asset
• Demonstrated capability to write and create text-based and multi-media learning materials
• Strong leadership skills and commitment to academic excellence, superior time and project management skills to meet required deadlines
• Proficient in computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
• Knowledge and experience using course/learning management systems (e.g., D2L) is an asset
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills
• Able to work independently with little direct supervision
• Strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives
